WARNINGS. Rick is prone to being verbally abusive, dismissive, and crude. He has suicidal and self destructive tendencies, though this usually manifests in reckless behavior rather than overt attempts. He's also very blatantly an alcoholic, and spends a large amount of his time drunk and/or high. Be aware these things may come up in threads!

Rick is a hyper-intelligent super genius whose understanding of and experience with the greater mechanisms of the multiverse have left him a raging sociopath and barely-functioning alcoholic. He's pretty much an asshole 24/7, doesn't really give a fuck about anything or anyone, and is prone to fits of sudden inspiration and activity followed by complete apathy once he gets bored. And he always gets bored.
He has a daughter, Beth, whom he walked out on when she was a teenager, presumably because of his boredom, though he recently returned to her life after 20 years of absence. Beth and her children, Summer and Morty, are three of the only beings in the universe Rick actually gives a shit about, though that is fleeting at best, and at worst, it's something he actively tries to ignore. Beth's husband Jerry is an idiot, though. Screw that guy.
| STRENGTHS. |
- INTELLIGENCE. Rick is likely the smartest human being in the universe.
- INDIFFERENCE. Rick has literally seen about 90% of what's out there, so not much fazes him. Transdimensional travel is old hat to him.
- ANTIPATHY. Rick's general lack of empathy means he has no qualms about exacting brutal revenge against those who have wronged him. This emotional disconnect allows him to save and destroy worlds without much thought.
- EXPERIENCE. Because Rick has seen it all and done it all, he's able to call on his years of experience and predict what's happening and how to get out of it. He's got a lot of experience in running away from terrible things, too.
- CONFIDENCE. It's very rare that Rick is unsure of himself. Even when he's fucking up royally, he never doubts himself. His confidence and perseverance generally allows him to escape any given situation, given enough time and chances.
|
| WEAKNESSES. |
- ADDICTION. Rick is an alcoholic and a drug addict, both of which make it difficult for him to think clearly when under the influence. Which is often. He is described as mentally unwell, his addictions acting as both a cause and a symptom of his instability.
- CAPRICIOUSNESS. Rick gets bored easily and will abandon projects (and people) as soon as they stop entertaining him.
- CAUSTICITY. He's an asshole. Seriously.
- SANITY. Rick exhibits symptoms of various psychological disorders, notably paranoia, sociopathy, and frequent mood swings. Ostensibly he's deeply traumatized by the things he's experienced on his travels, and numbs this with aggression, impatience, and downright reckless behavior.
- STUBBORNNESS. When Rick is uncomfortable with the way a situation is turning out, particularly when it's not going according to his plan, he can have problems backing down or reevaluating his position. It's usually easier to blame everyone else.
